Lexington construction program targets minorities, women

Government officials in Lexington, Ky., are accepting applications for the Lexington Minority and Women Construction Training Program, which is meant to help minorities and women successfully compete in the construction industry, according to www.kentucky.com.

The program, which costs $50, begins Jan. 11 and involves a three-hour class each week for 10 weeks. Program topics include business and contract law, insurance and surety bonds, business planning and accounting.

Applications are due Dec. 10 and are available at www.lexingtonky.gov/purchasing.
